Fashion Now & Then is a one day symposium at LIM College on April 9, 2011 in which participants will discuss the past, present, and future uses of fashion information. Since fashion research draws upon many sources, we want to focus on the challenges regarding the collection and preservation of fashion and related contextual information.
The symposium will consist of a keynote lecture by Ron Knoth on Lester Gaba and two panel discussions:
The Fashion Photograph
Preserving the Past & Present: Models for the Collection, Preservation, Use and Sharing of Information
Panelists and Moderators to be announced very soon!
The event will take place in the LIM College Townhouse at 12 East 53rd Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues.
A nominal entrance fee will be charged and net proceeds will benefit the LIM Fashion Education Foundation. “The LIM Fashion Education Foundation (FEF) is a 501 C 3, tax exempt organization separate and distinct from LIM College. The Foundation’s primary mission is to raise funds to provide scholarships and grant aid for students who wish to attend LIM College. The FEF raises funds through individual and corporate contributions and special fundraising events.”
We will announce how to purchase tickets to this event soon. Seating will be limited. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact Lisa Ryan at firstname.lastname@example.org
