Have you ever wondered where fashion designers and stylists get their inspiration? Duh, of course you have, I mean, come on you’re a fashion business student, right? One of the most powerful sources of inspiration for designers, stylists, and even buyers and merchandisers has always been art. Owning works of art can cost millions of dollars, however. Icons like Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, and Anna Wintour have said countless times how much they love the inspiration they find in museums. Lucky for you, you have chosen to go to college in one of the great cultural and artistic capitals of the world. Just a short subway ride from your dorm or apartment are some of the great art collections, and you can see them all for about the price of a movie ticket, or about half the price of that splurge purchase at H&M that you’re not really going to wear much anyway once the weather warms up, or cools off. Having trouble deciding which things to see at which museums? Come to the Adrian G. Marcuse Library right here at LIM College! We have a full staff of four certified museum and art lovers who can each tell you our favorite things to see and our favorite places to see them. Also, instead of plunking down a hundred bucks at the gift shop for those fancy books, we have them here, for free. Our superb art book collection will let you get deeper into the stuff you’ve seen. Who knows, maybe inspiration for your next big idea?
