2016 Fashion: Now & Then Conference

The 2016 Fashion: Now & Then Conference will be held Thursday, October 20 - Saturday, October 22 at LIM College in New York City, NY (USA).

The theme for this year's Fashion: Now & Then Conference is Fashion as Art. We look forward to proposals that will demonstrate how fashion information and art in fashion have evolved through time and how it will continue to evolve in the future.

More information regarding the call for presentations and artwork will be published in April 2016.

Please email any questions to or to Nicole LaMoreaux, Organizer of the Fashion: Now & Then Conference at

Interior Design

Although LIM College focuses its curriculum around fashion, there has been a growth in the amount of students having interest in the subject of home fashions. Interior design, much like fashion, emphasizes the importance for an articulate knowledge in textiles and trends. We have been progressively expanding our interiors section in order to meet the interests of students eager to learn about home décor. The 747 section of our collection features a range of books on home fashions, ranging from significant historical rooms to contemporary inspirations. One book which I discovered in my search, Rooms by Derry Moore and Carl Skoggard (747 MOO), explores some of the most luxurious and creative interiors around the globe, and the people who inspired them. Room designs in this book range in inspirations dating back from the 16th century to present day.

The Adrian G. Marcuse Library also features home fashions in our magazine room, ranging from publications such as Architectural Digest to World of Interiors. These publications typically reach out to more contemporary audiences, but touch on classic décor as well. LIM College has recently made a new addition to the academic concentrations offered. Home Fashions concentration will include classes such as Home Fashions and Sales and Marketing for the Home. In addition, you can browse our textbooks sections and find Architecture and Interior Design (ARTS 2214 HAR) for an in-depth look of industry concepts and how they can be applied to careers. If you have an interest in interior decorating and would like to learn more about this field, we encourage you to stop by and view our collection.
