In Need of a Vacation?

With the touch of warm weather hitting New York City and the spring semester coming to an end, we all feel the need of a vacation. Whether we are in the position to do so, reading about other people’s travels can be just as exhilarating (not really). A vacation can be domestic, and to some a state of mental relaxation no matter where they are. If a complete change of scenery is what you’re looking for, perhaps studying abroad may come to interest. I have listed three books for the different kind of travelers: the one who wants a guide to fashion and food, the one who wants to be safe and culturally appropriate, and the one who didn’t get to travel but still wants to vicariously through a book.

647 SOU
Carlos Souza is a worldwide ambassador for Valentino sharing a guide of his favorite destinations during his travels. It also includes recommendations on food, cities, and fashion.

613.68 LEK
A travel model to help one utilize their personal, cross-cultural and security skills abroad.

910.4 GIL
A story of Elizabeth Gilbert setting out to explore three aspect of her nature in three different cultures. She channels pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and a balance of worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence in Bali (an island of Indonesia).
